Psychological Forced Retirement

These days one needs to develop a better understanding the various forces at work both in our own lives, as well as what new legislation that have a very real effects on our enterprises. 

Below in italics is an email I have received from Google regarding such upcoming changes:

Today- Overcome Obstacles

Very often I find things too complex, to even attempt to fix. There is all this digging I must go through, including bringing old laptop computers back to life without without even knowing their passwords. Sometimes it's best to trudge on forward with the task at hand, because "starting something" without all peripheral things in order, is still better than never starting at all. 

Things are rarely perfect nor are they idea for anyone really, so I myself need to realistically come to grips, that having too many goals, is rarely a good thing. It takes away doing a lesser number, or even just one and doing it well. Anything is better than doing nothing. I am creating a "self pep-talk" because seeing many thing before me to be done, I must accept that I might not get it all done today, but I could one or two things.

An Introspective Look on Aging.

This article is includes thoughts, I never before had. I suppose it's not my actual age (60) that makes me look at things (such as my inevitable death) forces me forward to to continue to develop accomplish or complete some of my goals. 

 

As the sun sets on one's life, it's an unfortunate realty that one spends some of their time and thought about who they once were, what they once had done, or even the things you wanted to do yet never did. 

In a way my original writing on this blog is helping me to direct my focus. It's better to take a lot of swings and often go down swinging for the fences. Then to get caught spending your years looking at the "proverbial pitches" of life and going down without ever swinging at the ball. In other words, I admit to spending a great deal of my life, watching life itself pass me by. Never really putting myself all in, nearly because on some level I was more afraid of success, than I was of failure. 

Failure was something unfortunately I knew all too well. Success was fleeting, yet often seemed possible. Then after succeeding, I would do or say something, that screwed up so many things. Will writing these ideas down help? I don't know.

This title implies a more comprehensive and longer piece. It's another one of these ideas that I will need to come back to.

Faded Dreams

For decades, I have been a hoarder on one level or another. Today I understand that, I have hoarded many:  material objects, ideas, writings, poetry and photos I have taken.

Today, I understand a phrase I had heard in an orthodox Jewish Shul in Richmond Hill, NY. that was well known for it's teaching of Kabbalah. The Kabbalistic phrase was binding by striking away. In a simplified way of looking at this is; that you can only keep, what you share.  

The images chosen for this written piece are part of my hope that I can do more written posts like this where I can share a great deal of my original photographs and poems. 

So, this format allows me to explore how to write various snippets of thoughts which consume much of my thought, right here, and right now.

Who I Became

I recall a sign that hung in the local High School I attended.  The following statement was that "We Are Who We Are About To Become", was either already there, or our art project mural was the backdrop to that statement.  Today now that some four decades have gone by, I wonder what kind of life have I really lived. What kind of life, am I living now? 

I seem to have created an abundance of ideas, thoughts, images, yet I have not shared them for a long time. I want to seem optimistic, but I don't know if I am. It's like, when the sun goes down, feeling like I did not seize the day, and accomplish something. I am hoping to find some solace in that posting in this blog (even if I don't share it for now) makes me feel productive in a small way.
